The deadline for public input on USDA’s beef grade standards is being extended through Dec. 7.

The Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is seeking comments on how U.S. beef grade standards could be updated to better serve beef producers, packers, wholesalers, volume food buyers, retailers and consumers.

The American Wagyu Association requested the agency review the grade standards. A 60-day comment period was set to end Sept. 8, but AMS granted an industry request to extend the comment period by an additional 90 days.

Comments may be submitted through Dec. 7 by searching for Docket ID AMS-LP-25-0485 at regulations.gov.
