Farm Production and Conservation

USDA announced more than $325 million for 42 conservation projects through the Regional Conservation Partnership Program to help farmers, ranchers and forest landowners improve their operations and protect natural resources.

USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service has streamlined partnership agreements and expanded flexibility to make the program easier to use. Seventy-five percent of this year’s funding will go directly to producers or cover conservation practice implementation. Selected proposals emphasized soil health, water quality, wildlife habitat, precision agriculture and producer assistance.

The funding also set aside $30 million for projects with Tribes, supporting conservation on working lands.
