Texas updates NWS infested zones

The Texas Animal Health Commission (TAHC) released two additional New World screwworm (NWS) infested zones while modifying another.

The agency released infested zones 01.B and 05, which covered Uvalde and Zavala counties. Releasing zones removes NWS-related movement requirements for livestock and pets within the area.

TAHC also modified Infested Zone 06 by removing the portions of Kimble County previously included in the zone, along with portions of Schleicher and Sutton counties. However, the agency redesignated the remaining affected areas of Schleicher and Sutton counties as Infested Zone 06.A.
