The Red Angus Association of America (RAAA) is moving its headquarters from Commerce City, CO, to the Oklahoma City, OK, area following a unanimous board vote in June.
RAAA said the board considered operating costs, access to members, workforce needs and beef industry growth. “Our goal is to be a driving force when the cow herd starts to be rebuilt,” said RAAA President Jeff Pettit, adding that Oklahoma places the association “right in the middle of cow country.”
The association said lower operating costs in Oklahoma will allow it to put more money toward member services, breed improvement, technology and youth programs.
RAAA is leasing office space at 2012 S. Post Road in Midwest City while searching for a permanent headquarters. The phone number for membership services or questions will remain 940-387–3502.
