Cattle management software company Breedr has raised $27 million in Series B funding to expand its U.S. team and reach more ranches and feedyards.
The company also plans to expand the data available to producers, including genomics. Its platform lets users record breeding, calving, weights, treatments and performance by phone, keeping individual animal histories available to their teams.
Through its Connected Beef program, producers can market cattle with those records through private treaty or Superior Livestock Auction. Breedr says the network has traded nearly $500 million in cattle this year.
