Earlier this year, Arizona state Sen. David Farnsworth (R-Mesa) introduced a bill that would disallow the transport of Mexican gray wolf puppies into the state, and the use public funds or resources to fund their transport.

The bill is now on its way to the governor’s desk. “If you want to know why your hamburger is so expensive in the market, it is because of the Mexican gray wolf,” Sen. Sylvia Allen, a Republican from Snowflake, said while defending Senate Bill 1280, according to the Arizona Mirror
