The U.S. Forest Service (USFS) and Thunder Basin Grazing Association in mid-August signed a shared stewardship agreement to advance long-term rangeland collaboration.
The agreement creates a 20-year framework to strengthen rangeland stewardship, ecosystem health and sustainable working landscapes across the Thunder Basin National Grassland in northeast Wyoming, according to the USFS.
“Through this agreement, we will identify priority areas to improve forage and soil health, expand wildlife friendly infrastructure, and work together on targeted grazing and vegetation management that strengthens the resilience of this landscape,” said USFS Chief Tom Schultz.
The framework will allow the parties to identify priority areas for restoration, conservation and treatment.
