USDA and the Small Business Administration (SBA) signed a new memorandum of understanding (MOU) to combat “lawfare” against American farmers, ranchers and small businesses.
“For too long, a network of government agencies, radical environmentalist (non-governmental organizations), and activist groups have targeted American farmers and ranchers,” USDA said. “Producers have been forced to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines, give up prime grazing land, and even sell and stop farming on generational properties.”
The MOU formalizes collaboration between the USDA and SBA’s Office of the National Ombudsman to ensure farmers, ranchers or small business owners “stand alone against abusive or disproportionate enforcement practices,” USDA said.
