The U.S. Cattlemen’s Association (USCA) adopted an interim policy in August regarding the use of mRNA vaccines.
The group opposes the use of ribonucleic acid (RNA) gene therapy platform technology inoculations in meat- or milk-producing animals until there is scientifically sound raw data for open review on the health, safety and fertility effects, USCA said.
“Ensuring this technology remains transparent to those in the industry as well as those in the marketplace will be key to protecting both the domestic and international markets for U.S. beef,” the organization said.
