The Save Mart Companies is launching a new private label line of minimally processed meats to help families manage rising grocery costs and economic uncertainty, Food Dive reported.
Beginning in mid-November, value-priced beef, pork and poultry will arrive in stores ahead of a full December rollout. Each product will carry the banner’s branding where it’s sold. “The purpose of this is really to offer families quality proteins at an affordable price,” said Andy Comer, vice president of marketing, noting that escalating meat costs remain a challenge for shoppers.
The initiative will span 191 Save Mart, Lucky and FoodMaxx stores in California and Nevada, excluding the company’s Oregon and Washington locations.
