Superior Livestock video auction

Superior Livestock Auction hosted their video auction live April 30 from the Superior Livestock Auction Studio in Hudson Oaks, TX. Cattle producers sold 23,954 head of calves, yearlings and bred stock totaling 203 lots from 17 states for this offering. Strong buyer participation from several bidders throughout the auction resulted in 83 different successful buyers. Cattle were sold on contract to deliver immediately through November.

Another round of precipitation and record highs on cash slaughter cattle trade produced a bullish market report for the April 30 video auction. Regions 3/4/5/6 feeder steers saw increased buyer participation at $10 higher than last auction. Feeder heifers from the same regions were only moderately tested at $5 higher but saw strong demand for replacement quality heifers moving out at as much as $20 higher. Regions 1/2 feeders were only lightly tested but comparable trades were $5- 10 higher. Regions 3/4/5/6 calves were $10-15 higher than the last offering. Bred stock was only lightly tested, but first-calf heifer pairs were well received.
