The USDA has opened the enrollment period for the Farmer Bridge Assistance program, which will provide $11 billion in one-time bridge payments to row crop producers in response to trade market disruptions and increased production costs.
The payments are authorized under the Commodity Credit Corporation Charter Act. The enrollment period closes April 17, and applications can be submitted at fsa.usda.gov/fba.
USDA also announced $1 billion in assistance for specialty crop farmers with commodities that were not covered under the Farmer Bridge Assistance program. Specialty crop producers have until March 13 to report 2025 acres to USDA’s Farm Service Agency.
