The Utah Department of Agriculture and Food (UDAF) is offering financial relief for farmers with active loans to help offset impacts from drought, wildfires and rising operating costs.
Beginning Nov. 1, every active UDAF loan will be interest-free from Nov. 1-Oct. 31, 2027. Rates will drop automatically with no application required. Rates will return to original terms on Nov. 1, 2027.
In addition, loan users will have the option to defer payments for up to 12 months with flexibility offered for payment schedules. If 2026 installments have already been paid, the 2027 payment may be deferred instead.
The deadline to apply for deferral is Oct. 31. Requests may be submitted at tinyurl.com/bd5sjbsm.
