The USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service has launched a new mobile app designed to improve access to its Remote Grading Program for Beef.
The program allows meat processors to obtain official USDA quality grades, including Prime, Choice and Select, through remote carcass imaging at a lower cost than traditional onsite grading. The new app offers more secure image submissions, fewer upload errors and improved grade tracking.
Since its introduction, the program has registered 88 facilities in 32 states, many of them small processors.
USDA officials say the technology expands market opportunities while helping producers improve genetics and carcass quality. For more information, visit tinyurl.com/525j6t37.
