Sustainable Beef LLC has been approved for a land purchase east of North Platte, NE, to build its proposed beef plant.
The North Platte City Council approved the sale for $142,500 under a unanimous vote and waived the normal requirement of three readings to speed up the process, according to the North Platte Bulletin.
Under the approval, Sustainable Beef must sign a construction contract to build the plant at a capacity of 1,500 head per day, obtain a loan agreement and have enough equity to secure a loan, the media outlet reported. The company has 60 days to meet the requirements and close the sale.
