Colorado Parks and Wildlife confirmed a pair of wolves in the state has at least six wolf pups.
The collared pair in north central Colorado was first spotted with three pups in early June. The agency said it is the first time since the 1940s that wolf pups have been confirmed in Colorado.
The discovery will not alter the effort to reintroduce wolves to the state. About 40 public meetings are scheduled throughout July and August to gather public input on the restoration process.
