A King County Superior Court judge denied on Oct. 31 a request to halt the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) from lethally removing one wolf from the Sherman Pack in Ferry County.

Washington Wildlife First and other groups sought an injunction after WDFW approved the removal on Oct. 9. The authorization, however, expired on Oct. 15. Judge Suzanne Parisien ruled that the petitioners had not demonstrated a likelihood of prevailing on the merits, allowing WDFW’s decision to stand.
