Humane World Action Fund launched an advertising campaign in August urging Congress to reject the Save Our Bacon Act and exclude it from the farm bill.

The group, formerly known as Humane Society Legislative Fund, began with a $250,000 streaming ad buy in Minnesota. The ads ask voters to contact Congress about the legislation, which would limit states’ ability to set production standards for agricultural products sold within their borders.

President Sara Amundson said Congress should focus the farm bill on issues facing farmers rather than overturning state animal-welfare laws. The campaign follows the group’s advertising during the 2023 and 2024 farm bill debate. Congress did not pass similar legislation at that time, leaving California’s Proposition 12 and Massachusetts’s Question 3 in place.
