BLM launches web tool for grazing options

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) recently launched a new web-mased map tool intended to help connect ranchers with information on vacant public lands grazing allotments.

“The tool supports the agency’s broader effort to improve rangeland health, reduce invasive weeds, and lower the risk of wildland fire across the West,” BLM said in a news release.

The tool shows potential grazing opportunities available on BLM, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and U.S. Forest Service lands.

The agencies caution that the information available is not guaranteed, and interested applicants must contact the relevant agency for current information, site-specific requirements and authorization procedures.

The tool may be accessed here.
