The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, Public Lands Council (PLC) and Wisconsin Cattlemen’s Association urged the Senate to pass S. 1306, which would delist gray wolves in the Lower 48 states and return gray wolf management to the state level.
The legislation was introduced by Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) and is the companion to the Pet and Livestock Protection Act, which passed the House of Representatives in late 2025.
“Ranchers and rural communities across the West face economic and emotional strain as wolf populations that prey on livestock and pets,” said PLC President Tim Canterbury. “We strongly urge the Senate to pass this critical legislation and restore state management authority.”
