United Kingdom (UK) grocer Waitrose has confirmed it will not purchase American beef or chicken, pledging to support British farmers amid a new U.S.-UK trade agreement, according to Foodmarket.
Despite the deal, Waitrose insists it will maintain its commitment to sourcing all own-brand beef, lamb, chicken, pork, eggs and milk from British farms.
Other retailers, including Tesco, Aldi and Co-op, echoed this stance, reaffirming their dedication to British meat. According to Foodmarket, concerns over food standards remain high, with supermarkets seeking to reassure customers they won’t compromise on quality or sourcing policies.
