The Biden administration is awarding funds to Tribes for conservation projects and animal disease prevention and preparedness.

USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) is allocating up to $500,000 for Tribes and Tribal organizations to enhance animal disease prevention through the National Animal Disease Preparedness and Response Program (NADPRP). Tribes can submit proposals until Jan. 24, 2025, for the fiscal year 2025 NADPRP Tribal funding opportunity at www.aphis.usda.gov/funding.

Additionally, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is awarding $6.4 million to Native American and Alaska Native Tribes for wildlife conservation projects across 15 states. This funding supports 35 Tribes, promoting Tribal sovereignty and benefiting culturally significant wildlife species, the agency said.
