Star Meat Delivery Inc. of Lucama, NC, is recalling about 167,639 pounds of raw pork, beef and goat products produced without federal inspection, according to USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.
The products carry a false USDA inspection mark with establishment number “EST. 1363,” which does not have a federal grant of inspection. FSIS said any product carrying that number should be considered misbranded and unsafe to eat.
The meat was produced before Sept. 22 and shipped to A&D Foods in Georgia for distribution to retailers and restaurants nationwide. Some individual packages may carry labels added by retailers rather than the false establishment number.
No illnesses or injuries have been confirmed.
