The application deadline for the Strengthening Processing for U.S. Ranchers (SPUR) Program has been extended to Sept. 30.
The program provides temporary support for small- and mid-size beef slaughter facilities under federal inspection that are U.S. owned and not owned by an entity that is nationally dominant in beef slaughter.
Eligible facilities are required to register with sam.gov and return the application to spurapplications@usda.gov by the new deadline. Application information was sent directly to eligible beef slaughter facilities using information on file with the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service.
