A tentative deal between East and Gulf Coasts dock workers and their employers was reached on Jan. 8, averting further strikes that could have affected supply chains.
The International Longshoremen’s Association and the United States Maritime Alliance called the tentative agreement a “win-win” that will create jobs, support American consumers and businesses and keep the American economy the hub of the global marketplace. The six-year master contract will not be released to allow members to review and approve the final document.
