Construction once again resumed at the Producer Owned Beef plant site in Amarillo, TX, where crews are working on the $670 million facility designed to give ranchers ownership in beef processing.
According to the Amarillo Globe-News, construction is about 65% complete, and vertical construction—now 30% finished—is expected to be completed by year’s end. Once complete, the 3,000-head-per-day plant will create 1,600 jobs and strengthen the region’s ag economy through sustainable, locally sourced production.
A $253 million building permit issued in August 2025 jumpstarted progress toward the project’s anticipated 2028 completion.
