A McCook, NE, woman is facing felony charges tied to the alleged fraudulent purchase of more than $1 million in cattle from the Ogallala Livestock Market.

According to NTV News, Amanda Gentry is charged in Keith County District Court with theft by deception and identity theft, both involving amounts exceeding $5,000. NTV News cites an arrest affidavit stating that 453 head of cattle, worth about $1.24 million, were purchased on Oct. 16 and delivered to a Red Willow County feedlot.

Investigators with the Nebraska Brand Committee allege payment was never collected and identities were used without authorization. Gentry was arrested Nov. 18 and later released on bond, with a Jan. 9 court date set.
