Legal Ledger Brief: Wolf depredation/compensation survey

A graduate student at Colorado State University (CSU) along with the Western Landowners Alliance is conducting surveys and interviews with livestock producers across the West to understand the real impacts of wolves.

“The goal of our research is to address a fundamental concern of the livestock community that the impacts of wolves on livestock are underestimated, and therefore available depredation compensation is not representative of the lived experiences of landowners operating on landscapes with wolves,” Rachael (Rae) Nickerson, CSU grad student wrote in the survey.

The study will take place through September 2021 in Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona.

If you are interested in participating in the survey or interview, please contact Nickerson at rachael.nickerson@colostate.edu or at 847-951-6477. Or, click here to view the survey.
