The National Park Service (NPS) and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will be conducting a meeting on the North Cascades grizzly bear draft environmental impact statement (EIS).
The meeting will be held at 5 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Okanogan County Fairgrounds Agriplex in Okanogan, WA.
Meeting participants will have the opportunity to provide up to two minutes of oral comment on the draft.
The draft EIS considers restoration alternatives to restore the grizzly bear population in the North Cascades, and their potential impact on the environment.
A comment period was previously held on the draft EIS from January 2017 to April 2017.
A current commenting period is open now until Oct. 24.
Comments may be submitted on the NPS website or sent to Superintendent’s Office, North Cascades National Park Service Complex, 810 State Route 20, Sedro Woolley, WA 98284.
