CBD seeks stronger CO wolf regulations

NPS/Jacob W. Frank

The Center for Biological Diversity (CBD) on March 9 submitted a formal rulemaking petition to the Colorado Parks and Wildlife, seeking “commonsense updates” to regulations that outline when wolves can be taken.

“This petition is about clarity, fairness and prevention, and making sure lethal control is truly a last resort,” said Alli Henderson of the Center for Biological Diversity.

The group contends that the current rules aren’t clear enough about what reasonable conflict minimization measures are, and also lack clarity about reasonable use before authorizing a lethal taking.
