Legal Ledger Brief: Changing sheep allotments to hold cattle

The U.S. Forest Service is accepting comments regarding a proposal to graze cattle on four former sheep allotments in the Bridger-Teton National Forest in Wyoming.

The Elk Ridge, Lime Creek, Rock Creek and Tosi Creek allotments cover 31,000 acres and would offer more flexibility for cattle rotational grazing in the Upper Green Area. No new range improvements are proposed.

A comment period is open through June 25 and comments may be submitted online here by clicking on “Comment/Object on Project” or by mail to Rob Hoelscher, district ranger, PO Box 220, Pinedale, WY 82941.
