German Agriculture Minister Cem Oezdemir said the country has had no new cases of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) since the initial case reported Jan. 10 in a herd of water buffalo.

In an interview on a German radio station, Oezdemir said the country will continue its efforts to contain the disease and win back the trust of companies that placed import restrictions on the country’s ag products, according to a Reuters report. Authorities continue to test animals on farms in the Brandenburg region where the initial case was reported.
