Comments sought for stockyards

The Grain Inspection and Packers and Stockyards Administration (GIPSA) is seeking comments from stakeholders regarding 11 stockyards now operating subject to the Packers and Stockyards Act be posted. “Posting” in this case means the declaration that a stockyard meets the definition of a stockyard under the Packers and Stockyards Act of 1921. The 11 proposed stockyards are all located in the South. To see a list of the proposed stockyards and/or to submit comments, visit regulations.gov using the Docket ID GIPSA_FRDOC_0001-0679. Comments are due by Oct. 5.
