Starting Oct. 1, the Colorado State Board of Stock Inspection Commissioners will increase brand inspection fees, with five-year brand assessment fees set to rise in January 2027.
The Brand Inspection Division, funded entirely by user fees, has faced inflation-driven costs and a projected $3 million deficit, as rates have remained unchanged since 2016.
“Brand inspection is vital to Colorado’s $3 billion livestock industry,” said Brand Commissioner Todd Inglee. “These necessary fee adjustments will help the Brand Inspection Division remain on solid financial footing and provide the livestock industry the needed loss protection services we offer.”
Despite the adjustments, Colorado’s fees will stay below those of neighboring states. More details are available at tinyurl.com/2efwsf9z.
