The event began as a way to recognize South Dakota beef producers and their role in pasture to plate.
SDBIC President Eric Sumption said, “The beef industry continues to play a huge role in South Dakota’s economy and we are proud to recognize these producers for their efforts at events like this.
The Beef Bowl continues to be a great venue due to the long-standing relationship with SDSU in everything from beef research to promotion.”
The event consisted of a tailgate contest for beef dishes to be judged by South Dakota beef producers, with the top dish recognized on field at the university football game.
This event continues to be a great way to recognize the nearly 15,000 beef producers within our state and thank our consumers for choosing beef, SDBIC said.
