Empirical Foods, a Nebraska-based beef processor, recently announced the construction of a new ground beef facility to be located in Garden City, KS.

The new facility will supplement the company’s existing production in South Sioux City, NE.

The plant is expected to break ground in early 2020 and be finished between 2022 and 2023.

When fully operational, the facility will double the company’s ground beef production and employ around 300 employees.

“The state of Kansas, and Garden City in particular, have always been great partners to the beef industry and companies like ours, that have been valued members of the community for years,” said President Craig Letch in an official statement.
