Beef Bits Brief: Cheney reintroduces interstate beef bill

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY-At Large) recently reintroduced the Expanding Markets for State-Inspected Meat Processors Act of 2021, which would allow for the interstate movement of state-inspected meat.

“As we recover from the challenges posed by the pandemic, we must be doing everything possible to expand opportunities and open markets that will allow livestock producers to increase their economic activity,” Cheney said.

The bill has the support of Gov. Mark Gordon (R), the Wyoming Stock Growers Association, and the Wyoming Farm Bureau.
