Vermont Wagyu became the first U.S. farm to ship Certified Authentic Wagyu beef, according to Meat+Poultry.
Beginning Sept. 8, the farm added the new label to all qualified full-blood Wagyu products, with gradual rollout on future packaging. The certification, backed by the American Wagyu Association and the USDA, guarantees beef that exceeds USDA Prime standards.
Japan uses an A5 grading system, whereas U.S. beef traditionally follows the Prime, Choice and Select grading system. Vermont Wagyu affirmed its beef remains 100% full-blood Wagyu, ensuring quality and consistency as consumers gain clear assurance of authenticity and superior marbling through this recognized certification process.
