The USDA Agricultural Marketing Service announced approval of three new vision grading instruments for its beef grading program.

The technology predicts marbling scores, applies Prime, Choice and Select shields, assigns yield grades, and measures ribeye area for certified beef programs. Approved systems include Global Meat Imaging’s Google Pixel 7a, JBT/Marel/E+V’s VBG2000-7L and MEQ Incorporated’s Camera V2.
