Tentative labor agreement reached at Tyson plant

Tyson Foods Inc. and Teamsters Local 577 reached a tentative agreement at the Amarillo, TX, beef processing facility, according to the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

The union, representing 3,100 workers, had previously voted 98% in favor of authorizing a strike. Local news outlet KAMR reported that the proposed four-year contract includes immediate wage increases, plus additional increases in subsequent years. It also offers bonuses ranging from $250 to $1,000 based on tenure, improved vacation policies, bereavement leave and other benefits including health benefits and an enhanced 401(k) starting in 2026. A ratification vote was scheduled for July 2.
