President Donald Trump said in a CBS interview he is “not interested right now in talking to China” in terms of moving forward with an additional phase of a trade deal.
“We made a great trade deal,” Trump said, “But as soon as the deal was done, the ink wasn’t even dry, and they hit us with the plague,” he said, referencing the COVID-19 outbreak.
Phase One of the trade deal focused mainly on Chinese purchases of U.S. goods and a second phase of the deal was meant to tackle more intellectual property issues.
