Israel-based cultured meat company Future Meat Technologies announced it had changed its name to Believer Meats (Believer), effective immediately.
“Our company rebranding to Believer embodies the course we’ve charted to build a better future of meat production,” Nicole Johnson-Hoffman, CEO of Believer, told Foodmarket.
“Our evolution from a biotechnology startup to a consumer-driven food technology company is a milestone on the pathway to broad adoption of cultivated meats and, importantly, signals that we’re nearing commercial launch.”
The company opened its first cultivated meat production line in Israel in 2021 and produces cultivated chicken, lamb, beef and pork. According to the company’s website, it hopes to build a facility in the U.S. in the coming year following a series of fundraising efforts.
