In late September, Colorado Lamb Processors opened for processing, marking 40 years since a facility has been built in the region.
“We are so excited for this new endeavor we are about to embark on and truly grateful to everyone that has had a role in this long three-year journey with us! We can’t help but be a little biased, but it is was so worth the wait,” the company said in a Facebook post.
The plant located in Brush, CO, is owned by three sheep-producing families, the Harpers, the Raftopolous, and the Rules. The company anticipated opening earlier in the year, but the coronavirus delayed construction. At full capacity, the company anticipates processing 1,800 carcasses.
