The historic and legendary 6666 Ranch’s three ranch divisions are up for sale for a combined $341.7 million.
The ranch was established in 1870 and includes over 266,255 acres of land across West Texas. According to Chas. S. Middleton and Sons, the land broker listing the ranches, legend has it the ranch began with a poker game and a winning hand of four sixes.
Although a great story, the origin can actually be traced back to Samuel Burk Burnett, one of the most influential cattlemen in Texas history. At the age of 19, Burnett purchased 100 head of cattle which had been branded with the 6666’s brand. From there, the ranch grew to the legacy it is known as today. Upon the death of Burnett’s great-granddaughter Anne Burnett Marion in 2020, the ranching operations were to be sold.
The largest of the three ranch divisions is the 6666 Ranch in Guthrie, TX, which has over 142,000 acres and is listed for $192.2 million. The 6666 Dixon Creek Ranch Division has over 114,000 acres and is listed at $137.3 million. Finally, the 6666 Frisco Creek Ranch Division has over 9,000 acres and is listed at $12.2 million.
