The Red Angus Association of America (RAAA) introduced a new fed cattle grid-pricing system during a reception at the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association’s Trade Show in February.

Sustainable Beef LLC, a new processing plant opening in April in North Platte, NE, will implement this grid, equally rewarding Red Angus, black Angus and smoky cattle. Tom Brink, RAAA CEO, emphasized the system’s potential impact, allowing feeders to pay the same for black and Red Angus calves, knowing they will be rewarded equally for quality.

According to Brink, the partnership between RAAA and Sustainable Beef strengthens market opportunities for Red Angus cattle while promoting industry-wide profitability and quality beef production.
