Four generations of the Rosenthal family have guided Standard Meat Company through 90 years in Fort Worth, and now they are opening a major new facility at the Fort Worth Stockyards, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.

Located at 1101 NE 23rd St., the 180,000-square-foot plant is the largest local meat production site since Swift Company closed in 1971. Designed to double the Dallas plant’s capacity and potentially process 125 million pounds annually, it will feature a sous vide cooking line and supply roast beef to Arby’s. Ben Rosenthal said the location reflects their commitment to community roots and employees living in nearby northside neighborhoods while restoring meatpacking to its historic home.
