OK processing plant opens

In collaboration with the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma

Three Rivers/Choctaw Nation

In collaboration with the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, Three Rivers Meat Company announced the grand opening in Octavia/Smithville on April 12.

Serving as a USDA-certified meat processing facility, Three Rivers also offers value-added products and includes a retail section featuring a cafe. The establishment of this facility eliminates the need for local residents to travel an hour away to access fresh meat and produce.

The partnership integrates with the Choctaw Nation’s Choctaw Beef program, which started in 2023. Three Rivers will complement H&L Processing in Coalgate as an additional processing plant for Choctaw Beef.

While focusing primarily on beef and hogs, the facility will also process wild game, goats and lambs, employing a tracking system to ensure customers receive meat from their specific animals. Initially processing 75 butcher orders weekly, Three Rivers aims to expand its capacity in the future.
