The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Malheur Field Office, Vale District of Vale, OR intends to prepare an environmental impact statement (EIS) in the Louse Canyon Geographic Management Area (LCGMA).
The BLM Vale District is conducting an EIS in order to analyze alternative livestock management and restoration activities, and to make progress in moving toward meeting the Oregon/Washington Standards for Rangeland Health and Guidelines for Livestock Grazing Management in the LCGMA.
The assessment will include alternatives for grazing practices, permit renewals and rangeland restoration and improvement projects.
The BLM is seeking public input on issues, actions and alternatives that should be addressed by the EIS, which may include livestock grazing, wildfire threats, sagebrush health and greater sage-grouse habitat.
