USDA has opened up disaster aid funding through its Wildfires and Hurricane Indemnity Program Plus (WHIP+).
Through the program, USDA is helping producers recover from natural disaster losses in 2018 and 2019.
USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) will open signup on March 23 for producers to apply for eligible losses of drought (D3 or above) and excess moisture.
Additionally, producers who had widespread crop loss from disaster events that resulted in price deductions or penalties can apply for assistance.
As livestock losses are covered by other FSA programs, they will not be eligible in WHIP+.
