The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has granted an extension to the comment period on its proposed rule, the Enhancement and Standardization of Climate-Related Disclosures for Investors.
The rule would require public companies to report supply chain emissions, and agriculture industry groups say the rule could negatively impact agriculture.
“We have deep concerns that the SEC is proposing a rule that will subject farmers to regulations that are intended for Wall Street,” the American Farm Bureau Federation said in a statement.
The new comment deadline is June 17, and comments may be submitted by selecting “submit comments” under file number S7-10-22 atsec.gov/rules/proposed.shtml, emailingrule-comments@sec.gov, or mailing to Vanessa A. Countryman, Secretary, Securities and Exchange Commission, 100 F Street NE, Washington, D.C. 20549.
Comments should include file number S7-10-22 if emailing or mailing comments.
